Synopsis

Of almost 500 submissions, the 11 best, which were chosen by the curators Arash and Arman T. Riahi,  will be shown in competition. A whole range of other outstanding works will also be screened – outside the competition and within different thematic sections – as was done in previous years of the Festival. What all the shorts have in common is the desire for a human, fair and happy existence not at all lacking in that one special thing... (All you need is) love. Come, watch, enjoy!

The following films are presented:

Don’t speak about Love

(Ne parlez pas d'amour)

 FRA 2014 | 23 min.

Language: French w. Engl. ST

Director: Saïd Hamich

Samir is impulsive and known as a difficult child. His classmate Lea is a wheelchair user. Even though they fancy one another, they seem to have difficulties when it comes to expressing their mutual affection. An atypical love story with an all-too-real backdrop.

 Mokusatu

 ITA 2014 | 16 min.

Language: Japanese w. Engl. ST

Director: Nour Gharbi

Keiko goes to work while her boyfriend takes care of the household. It starts to take a heavy toll on their relationship when Takashi becomes increasingly hostile towards his girlfriend. A well-made tribute to Japanese cinema in its classic form.

 Personal Development

 IRL 2014 | 15 min.

Language: English w. Engl. ST

Director: Tom Sullivan

Orla’s mother takes her to her father for the weekend. As luck would have it, during her stay she has her period for the very first time. Although it’s uncomfortable and awkward for both of them at first, it eventually leads to father and daughter growing closer to each other.
