Synopsis

A dying boy and his grandmother give a depressed history teacher new strength. Told with a lot of feeling and love for the characters, with the history of Montenegro constantly in the background.

The film will be presented within the frame of SHORT FILMS: OUT OF THE ORDINARY together with the following productions:

Living with Leviathan
(Leviathan'la Yaşamak)
TUR 2013 | 14 min.
Language: English
Director: Şirin Bahar Demirel.
In 2013, Istanbul’s Gezi park becomes a symbol of resistance. An essay-like short documentary about the unmistakeable “NO!” of Turkey’s youth. “NO!” to the political establishment and “NO!” to police brutality.

Balcony
(Ballkoni)
KOS 2013 | 20 min.
Language: Albanian w. Engl. ST.
Director: Lendita Zeqiraj.
A ten-year-old sits dangerously high up on a balcony, and everyone in the neighbourhood has their own opinion on it. A perfectly composed farce, filmed in one single take. An impressive piece of directing.

Fragments
(Fragmenty)
POL 2014 | 25 min.
Language: Polish w. Engl. ST.
Director: Agnieszka Woszczynska.
Sterile apartment, sterile sex, sterile life. This film, shown at the Cannes Film Festival, utilises loosely connected scenes with impressive images to illustrate the collapse of its protagonist’s middle-class world.
